Bing’s Bakery creates delectable cakes to complement their specialty beverages in their coffee bar, Big D’s award-winning BBQ, excellent handmade soups and salads, a complete deli with a range of prepared dishes, and a variety of prepared foods. On weekends, you’ll find Big D grilling up his signature dishes, which include mouth-watering ribs, chicken, and brisket, among others.

Dave lives by this philosophy, and he enjoys what he does! In addition to being the main BBQ pitmaster and manager of The Well, Dave Deal, dubbed “Big D,” is also the pitmaster of Big D’s Competition BBQ Team of Delaware. His award-winning BBQ is offered right here in Hockessin at The Well, which he owns and operates.

Big D’s squad participates in the Kansas City BBQ Society Circuit, held in the Tri-State region (KCBS.) His crew has won over 50 accolades, including state titles in ribs, chicken, hog, and brisket in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. In addition, big D’s has qualified for the Jack Daniel’s World Championship of BBQ and competed in Lychburg, Tennessee, as the state of Delaware’s representative in this year’s competition.

The Well also assists anyone in their community who needs it. They deliver meals to children in need, serve health-care personnel on the front lines, and feed the homeless and those who need their assistance, among other activities. They’ve already provided food for almost 20,000 individuals.
