The University of South Carolina’s Alexa Hoffman developed an interest in craft brewing while attending college there. Since her father John worked in the chemistry field, she reasoned that asking for a home brewing kit for Christmas would be a pleasant hobby for her and her family. Cody Hoffman, her 16-year-old brother, would catch the beer-brewing bug while assisting his father in making beer using the home brewing kit, which they had purchased.
Following that, he begged and pleaded with local breweries for employment. Triumph Brewing Company eventually hired him in New Hope, Pennsylvania. For the following eight months, they put their faith in a boy who had just graduated from high school and helped him absorb as much as he could about the beer-making process.

A decrepit building in the Garrett Snuff Mill complex, which was erected in 1901, was discovered by John in October 2013, after more than a year of seeking the ideal site for the brewery and tasting room. Because his family had lived in the vicinity of Yorklyn for the previous 30 years, John immediately felt at ease and ease with himself.
The more John thought about what he and his family would need to operate a successful company, the more he realized that he already had everything he needed. In addition to Cody, Georgiana (John’s wife) would oversee the financial side of the brewery, while Alexa would be in charge of planning special events for the company.
